Documentation Control Clerk
- 08026
With direct supervision, maintains control of records
and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and
engineering documents to other departments. This includes
but is not limited to data entry and update of DTC’s
MRP system (SyteLine), including inputs and updates
to Bills of Materials (BOMs). This individual will utilize
various systems including but not limited to MS Word,
Excel and Outlook to update and submit documentation
for approvals. Document scanning and copying will be
required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Confers with document originators or engineering
liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles
required changes to documents.
- Update Bills of Materials in SyteLine
- Operation of documentation devices such as copiers,
scanners and plotters
- Data entry, document scanning, photocopying and
filing
- Distribution of documentation, electronically and
manually
- Posts changes to computerized or manual control
records, releases documents, and notifies affected
departments.
- May prepare reports and memorandums.
- Performs duties in a safe manner and in conjunction
with established company policies and safety guidelines
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Degree or Equivalent or technical school;
and one to three years recent related experience or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience with government customers is preferred.

- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide
in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry
out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
form. Ability to deal with problems involving several
concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual
should be proficient in the use of Adobe Acrobat.
Familiarity with Manufacturing software such as Syteline
preferred; Order processing systems; Proficiency in
Spreadsheet applications such as Excel and MS office
Suite for Word Processing. Ability to operate associated
equipment i.e., scanners, copiers and other associated
equipment.
Other Skills and Abilities
- One to three years documentation control experience,
updating and electronically filing controlled documentation
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Recent experience performing updates to Business
System Bills of Materials (BOM), preferably SyteLine
- Hands-on experience creating and populating electronic
folders
- Familiarity with
• Adobe Acrobat – Conversion of drawings
to .pdf format
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Must be detail-oriented, dependable and work well
in a team environment
Desired, but not required:
- Previous SyteLine experience—see computer
skills.
Other Qualifications:
- US Citizenship required; employees must be able
to work in an environment with information/products
covered in DTC’s Technology Control Plan (TCP).
- Ability to work overtime as required.
